Natalia graduated from first grade yesterday. We got to go and watch her class play, they did the Three Little Pigs; Natalia was narrator number 2. Her teacher also gave out some awards to the kids. Natalia got the, Good Example Award. We are so proud of her and all of her hard work this year. She loved first grade. We loved Mrs. Rossi as a teacher. It was such a fun year and she has learned so much. She also picked up so hip slang, not as much of a fan of that. She says, "cray-cray" in place of crazy. I think all people sound like airheads when they use that slang. She thinks she can whip and Nae Nae. It is a dance move. And I had to ask my high school kids what a dab is; also a dance move, in case you were wondering. Natalia thinks she is cool. It is funny hearing her little girl's version of these things. She is still very sweet and innocent. She is looking forward to second grade and to having Sienna in school with her.

We have so much fun playing with friends. We have on neighbor family that we play with all the time, they are great. The kids have a blast together.
Natalia is always talking about her best friends. We love them.

And even I have friends. All of the joy school moms went out the other night.
Natalia's Doctor Visit
Natalia had her yearly check up last week. She is such a healthy seven year old. She did great at the doctor; she is super easy. She is in the 83rd percentile for height at four feet, two inches. She is in the 71st percentile for weight at 55.1 pounds.
We had an evening appointment and it was fun just hanging out with her. My life would be totally different if I only had one child.
Family Fun Run
For Family Home Evening last week, we did a family fun run. Some of our friends set it up; they had trophies for anyone who finished and snacks and the trail marked for 1/2 mile, mile and two miles. My kids are not super excited about running, but they were excited to be with so many of their friends. Natalia was the first kid back; she was really proud of herself (she was also the ONLY kid to do the half mile, everyone else did one or two miles). Sienna was planning to do the half mile, but then pushed herself and did the mile. We ran together and she did great...I really had no desire to go any faster than her pace, so we made a good team. Estelle started complaining about four steps into the race so she got scooped up in a stroller. She has decided that racing is not so bad if you can chill while someone pushes you.
Flag Day
Natalia had Flag day again at her school. I love it, these kids singing around the flag pole all dressed up; it feels so patriotic. Natalia did a great job singing. She has been so excited to sing Yankee Doodle. Estelle and Sienna came with me to watch. We loved it.
Sushi Night
We took our kids out to Sushi the other night because we finished reading the Book of Mormon again as a family. In the past we have gone out to ice cream when we finish, but we play this game called Sushi Go often, the girls love it, and they are always asking questions about sushi and they have been dying to try out. They did not love it. They did like the tempura though and the pudding they had for desert. They were a little surprised by the wasabi, but over all it was a fun experience. I think Hector and I will have kid free sushi experiences from here on out though. Back to ice cream in the future.

Pre-School Graduation
Sienna graduated from pre-school. She is now officially ready for Kindergarten. We loved our little preschool group this year. It was such a nice bunch of kids and moms. Sienna loved and looked forward to her preschool days the best. She had her favorite houses to go to (totally determined by who had the best superhero costumes), but she was happy at all the houses. She loved learning time and following the rules. She is so ready for kindergarten. I am so proud of her. The graduation was cute. We kept it simple at the park, but they did sing some songs and they all got graduation certificates. We ate cake (made by me) and played.
Grandpa got to be there too since he was in town. He may or may not have taken a nap on a park bench while the graduating was happening. He did a lot of pushing kids on swings too.
