Valentine's Day Fancy Feast

Valentine's Day came and was gone before I knew it.  I was planning to do a service secret Valentine, but I didn't get my act together and that never happened.  We did do our traditional fancy feast.  The girls were really looking forward to it.  I had the table set before they came home from school.

The girls were so excited about all their valentine's and treats they got at school.  They wanted to show us them all.  I helped in Estelle's class during their valentine's party.  I just love Kindergarten kids.  They are the cutest!

Everyone likes to make a toast at dinner!  Sienna usually has a lot to say in her toasts and Estelle usually gets confused half way through her toast and starts talking about how she likes lots of butter on her toast.

Happy Birthday to Mom!

Happy Birthday to me.  My Birthday is the start of Birthday season at our house.  I am now 38!  I had a great birthday weekend.  I planned my own activities and that worked out pretty well.  Friday we dropped the girls off at Grandma's house.  Hector and I went to a movie and then met up with some friends for dinner.  It was a really fun evening.  Saturday we were busy all day with basketball games and girl scout cookie booths, but in the evening Hector and I headed up to Baltimore to see a Broadway play.  I had won lottery tickets at the last minute for super cheap orchestra seats and it was totally worth it.

Since we really had not had time to celebrate my birthday with the girls yet, Sunday morning Hector and the kids made a cake and breakfast for me.  They made me cards and then we played a new game that they got me.

I honestly do not mind getting older.  Age is just a number; and I still feel young.

More Winter Fun

Natalia and Sienna went to a Chinese New Year's Festival.  They had a great time.  All the girls have had some fun birthday parties they have attended.  Natalia even went to one that lasted until 9:00pm.  She really felt like a big girl!

The girls have missed a ton of school due to snow (often just cold weather or snow in the forecast).  I make them workout with me when they are home.

Even though it is cold, the girls still like to play outside.  We have had a couple of 65 degrees days mixed in with the below freezing weather.  Sienna loves to wear her army workout clothes to basketball practice.  She is really loving basketball and she is doing such a great job.

Family Bingo Night

Family Bingo Night was quite the surprise this year. I walked into the school with a friend of mine that was attending Family Bingo Night for the first time.  She told me that her kids were so excited to win prizes!  I promptly told her, "Oh, we never win anything and we have been coming every year.  Don't expect to win anything."

Well, I could not have been more wrong.  In addition to Bingo games, there were also some baskets that were being raffled off.  I gave each kid a dollar so they could each purchase one raffle ticket.  We played a couple rounds of Bingo and then they picked the first raffle.  Estelle won!  She was so excited that she ran up without her ticket.  All night she said, "I can't believe I won the first raffle!"  We thought it just had some games and treats in it, but turns out all the baskets had $30.00 amazon gift cards in them.

They only had 10 rounds of Bingo and five raffle baskets.  Estelle won the second to last Bingo.  We decided that Estelle was just a lucky girl, but then they did the drawing for the last raffle basket.  This is the raffle that everyone wanted and people had been purchasing tickets all night.  Sienna and Natalia are just holding their one ticket each hoping their number will be called.  The girls bought their tickets at the same time, so they are just one number off from each other.  As they are calling out the numbers, I can see that they are both still in the running.  They call out the final number, Sienna sighs and then I see Natalia jump out of her chair.  She won!  Seriously, we only bought a total of three raffle tickets and we won two of the five big prizes.  The odds were not in our favor, but we came out of the night with well over $100.00 in gift cards and prizes.
