Girl's Camp

I got to attend girl's camp this year.  It was so much fun to spend the week with our young women at the beach in Delaware!  I love being a youth leader.  The girls got to spend a few days at Grandma's house and then when I got home, I had just enough time to do laundry and then leave for Washington.  

Summer Fun

The girls have been really excited for summer.  We had two weeks of summer break before we headed off to Washington.  They were a busy couple of weeks and very scheduled so it only sort of felt like summer, but we still found time for summer fun.  We played at the park, got our summer reading coupons so we could get free ice cream and prizes at the nature center.  The girls had a reading morning in Natalia's room...they are so cute.  

We had a new babysitter one night too.  She told them a story about leaving their shoes by their door.  She promised them that their shoes will have gifts in morning if they went to bed well.  They girls were so excited and apparently put lots of thought into which shoes they would leave out.  It was a great idea for the babysitter.  Not so great for us when the kids got up at 5:00 in the morning because they were so excited to check their shoes.  

Estelle had her last Girl Scout activity - she got paint a ceramic at a pottery shop.  We also hit up the splash pad and ran into some of our friends while we were there.  It was a packed two weeks of summer fun, basketball and girls camp and activity days all while getting ready for our vacation to Washington.  

Activity Day Camp

Natalia and Sienna had a Activity Day camp for two days the second week of Summer.  I helped out the first day and was with Natalia's group.  Everyone's favorite activity was BB gun shooting.  Sienna was apparently the best at it for kids her age.  Natalia and her friend  Abbey hit the target a ton and loved it.  They had fun with the water activities too.  

I didn't get any pictures of Sienna since I was not with her group.  She was so excited to go for the first time.  I didn't get to see them second day because I had already left for girls camp.  

Basketball Camp

Sienna and Natalia did a week long basketball camp the week after school got out.  It was from 9:00 to 3:00 each day, so they were pretty tired by the time they got home.  They both loved it and had so much fun.   I watched them play a little the last day.  Sienna has only played one season of basketball and Natalia has not played at all, so it was pretty entertaining watching them play.  

Sienna won an award; the most improved.  She was so happy.  I don't think I have ever seen her smile so big as she did when they called her name and gave her a medal.  I love that she works so hard.  Sienna always tries her best at everything she does.  What a great quality.  I was really proud of Natalia for trying something she hasn't done before.  

Estelle and I had a whole week to hang it.  It was fun having some good Estelle time.
