Post Christmas Fun

We spent the night at Grandma and Grandpa's house.  The kids and adults played all day again the day following Christmas.  We came home that evening and dumped all the stuff from Hector's parents' house to the already heaping pile from Christmas morning.  We hadn't even taken out the trash yet, so it looked overwhelming.  We put the kids to bed and then cleaned up...well, Hector put together one of his Lego sets that Santa brought him.  Since the girls didn't really have time to play with their Christmas morning stuff I set it all out for them on separate couches and it was almost like Christmas morning again when they woke up Sunday and came down stairs.  It has been easy to entertain because new things are so much fun.

They have enjoyed all their new treasures.  Sienna is constantly dressed as a superhero.  They have done some of their art projects.  We have done puzzles and played lots and lots of Sushi Go.  We got that game for the family and Natalia and Sienna love it.  They are getting good to.  All day they ask me, "can we play sushi go again, Mom?"  It is fun and I have totally lost count of how many times we have played in the past couple of days.

Natalia anxiously awaits Hector getting home so that they can work on her Legos together.  Since we had new bunk beds in the girls room, we needed to rearrange everything else.  I found some great dressers on Craigslist so we picked those up one evening and spent the next day redoing their room.  It is has been a fun busy few days, Christmas decorations are put away but we are still living in the glory of Christmas.

Christmas Day

The fun didn't stop at our fun morning together.  We headed to the grandparents house for more fun and the girls were bouncing off their seats.  They had picked out remote control cars for their cousins and they couldn't wait for the boys to open them.  The girls loved seeing Eli so excited.  I love how much the girls love their cousins.  They are always talking about Eli and Luke and they are always so excited to see them.

The girls got spoiled again with more gifts.  Sienna was so happy to get all her superhero dolls.  She is such a funny girl, but it is what she really wanted and she loves them so much.  Natalia got a Lego set and she loves it so much.  She has been working on it with Hector and she is totally into it.  Looks like we might have more Legos in our future.

Estelle got a little talking toy oven and she has been cooking everyone food ever since.

Hector and I are excited about our GoPro.  The girls love their new jammies and cloths they got.  They all look super cute.  We spent the rest of the day eating and playing games and having fun with one another.  It was a great day and everyone was so happy.  We sure do love Christmas!

Estelle and Luke have become cute little buddies.  They just wanted to eat candy and laugh with one another all afternoon.

Uncle Andy got Hector a gift and Andy should win some kind of award for craziest wrapping job.  It took Hector thirty minutes to get it open and we were all entertained watching him work through layer after layer.  He was definitely working up a sweat doing it, but he finally succeeded.   It was really fun watching him work so hard.

Christmas Morning

Christmas Morning was filled with magic and smiles.  I am every bit as excited for Christmas Morning as my sweet little girls are.  They are excited for presents and I am excited to see them so excited.  I was down in the basement with Natalia and Sienna and they rested their little heads until 7:45, which I was grateful for being that "I cleaned up" until 2:00 in the morning.  Hector was upstairs with Estelle, so it took a little coordinating via text in the morning to get us all together before we let the girls into the living room.  I had fun asking Natalia and Sienna questions before we met up with Dad and Estelle.

We took lots of video and not as many pictures, but the girls reaction to every single gift was priceless.  Estelle found her candy canes right away and was as happy as can be.  She then found a pack of gum and if that was all that she had got, she would have been more than happy.  She went through her pack of gum quite quickly.  She was so happy to be able to eat as much gum as she wanted.

Sienna really wanted super hero stuff...superheros are her thing right now and it is all she has talked about for the past few months.  She we so happy to see a superhero pencil box and super hero tissues.  So funny, her exact response was, "Mom, I wanted superhero stuff and I got super hero stuff.  Santa got me super hero stuff just like I wanted.  He knew I wanted superheros!"  She was so excited.

Jodee had sent the girls gifts and they were so excited once the packages arrived.  Sienna was expecailly excited because her gift came in a really big bag.  She could wait to open it.  She kept bragging to her sisters that her gift was the biggest.  She loved the art stuff she got.

Natalia made a gift for Dad this year.  She was so excited for him to open it.  The girls also picked gifts out for each other and I loved that they were so excited to see each other open the gifts from them.  Sienna could not wait for Estelle to open the stroller she got for her.  Estelle took forever to get it open and the anticipation was almost more than Sienna could handle, but Sienna was so happy once Estelle finally figured out what it was.  Estelle loved it, "A stroller...mommy I got my own stroller."

Natalia sculped a snowman for dad and she was so excited watching him open it.  She did a really good job.

Estelle got these cool button sets and all the girls had fun with it.  Natalia was so excited about all the crafting projects she got and Sienna got even more superhero stuff.  She got two dress up costumes and she has been sporting the superhero look every since.

Sienna trilled with her superhero tissues

Sienna as Wolverine

We took our time opening gifts.  We took a break for breakfast and really enjoyed our morning.  I love letting the girls really take their time and enjoy the process of each gift that is opened.  We talk about who they are from and it makes it mean so much more to them.  If it is something we can take out of a box we do.  The girls get excited for each other that way and they are not just thinking about themselves; they enjoy seeing each other happy.  It all lasted about three hours.  The girls thought we were done, but then they found a few things hid in the tree.  The last gift they opened just had a note in it that said follow the kisses.  They were not sure what to think about that but they started running around looking for kisses.  They finally (with a little help from mom) found a trail of Hershey kisses leading up the stairs.  They ran up the stairs and Natalia exclaimed, "they are leading into our bedroom, Sienna!"  They opened the door and screamed, "bunk-beds, bunk-beds, bunk-beds!"  They started climbing on them...they both claimed the top.  Oops...couple of tears from Sienna which quickly dried up when Natalia offered to take turns with her each night.  They were so excited and it was fun to watch them.

I love Christmas morning.  It has a special magic and we just smile and have fun with one another.  I never really want it to end.  The girls were so happy with everything they got.  They loved talking about how quite Santa's elves must have been setting up the bunk bed without dad hearing.  They loved watching each other and they loved being so excited.

It was a great morning, but we left everything all crazy in our living room and headed down to Hector's parents' for more Christmas Fun.

Christmas Eve

We had a great Christmas Eve.  We started cooking the day before.  We did an all day pajama party on the 23rd.  Each girl got to pick food to help me make.  We made pies and played games and just had fun getting ready for Christmas.

On the 24th the girls helped me cook more food in the morning; it was fun getting ready for our party.  We had two other families join us this year for Christmas Eve.  We played lots of fun and silly games.  We ate way to much food, but it was good.  The kids put on a nativity and we all had fun together.

After our friends left (with lots of leftovers) the girls got ready for Santa to come.  They wrote him thank you notes and put out pie and chocolate milk.  We told Natalia and Sienna they could have a special sleep over in the basement because it was Christmas Eve.  Natalia was not to keen on the idea at first, but came around to it when I consented to sleep down there as well.  I had lots of clean up to do from our party, so the girls were sound asleep before I got down there and thankfully they slept in until 7:45.  Hector and I did not get much sleep, but we had lots of fun getting ready for Santa to come.
